Ezért a Symbol Ügyvitel adatokat tároló része elhelyezhető Linuxon.

Milyen előnyökkel jár ez?

  • Nem kell valamelyik munkaállomást reggel elsőként bekapcsolni.
  • Nem kell Windows-os szerver licenszt vásárolni az adatbázis tárolásához.
  • A Linux megbízható, jól terhelhető kiszolgáló felületet biztosít.

Milyen lépések szükségesek a telepítéshez?

  • A Linux disztribúciónak megfelelő Firebird 2.1 adatbázis szerver beszerzése. Ez Linux változatonként eltérő lehet, általában valamilyen RPM csomagként letölthető és automatikusan telepíthető a szerver és minden szükséges függőség.
  • Linux könyvtár létrehozása a Symbol Ügyvitel adatbázis számára. A Linux kiszolgálón létre kell hozni egy könyvtárat, amelybe a Firebird daemon (és/vagy a firebird felhasználó/csoport) rendelkezik írási/olvasási joggal. A könyvtárat NEM kell megosztani Samba eszközzel!
  • Linux kiszolgálón meg kell nyitni a 3050-es portot. A távoli kapcsolódás érdekében a 3050-es portot TCP/IP kapcsolat céljából meg kell nyitni.
  • A klienseken telepíteni kell a Symbol Ügyvitelt. A telepítésnél a hálózatos üzemmódot kell választani és a számítógép nevéhez a Linux kiszolgáló nevét vagy IP címét kell megadni. A könyvtárhoz a Linux-on létrehozott könyvtárat kell beírni. Például: “/symbolugyvitel/database/”
  • El kell indítani a Symbol Ügyvitelt. Valamely számítógépen a Symbol Ügyvitelt elindítva létrehozza az adatbázist. Ezek után a hasonlóan feltelepített többi kliens is csatlakozni fog az adatbázishoz.

Mit kell tenni, ha nem sikerül?

Windows-os klienseket a TELNET linuxipcím 3050 parancssor (például: TELNET 192.168.20.10 3050) begépelésével ellenőrizhető, hogy lehet-e csatlakozni a Linux-os kiszolgáló Firebird szerveréhez. Ha a csatlakozás sikerül, úgy a parancs futtatása után egy fekete ablakon várakozó állapotba kerül a szerver.
